"En Primeur 2010"
En Primeur or Wine Futures (as some people call it) is buying before it's bottled and released onto the market. Delivery is approximately 30 months later. For example, the 2009 vintage will arrive in bond at the end of this year.
The price paid is all inclusive of delivery into UK Bond. Our payment terms are 50% in July and 50% in November Once the wine is received at Vinotheque then storage and insurance costs apply at a six monthly rate of £4.76 plus VAT per case chargeable in arrears. Duty & VAT are payable if you remove your wines from Bond but most collectors tend to sell their wine "ex-bond" as Capital Gains Tax is not applicable to the profit an individual makes if he or she sells their wine.
At all times we highly recommend storing your wine in bond under the scrutiny of HM Customs & Excise as this contributes to the provenance of your wine which is a very important aspect to any re-sale.
Most importantly, En Primeur is the chance to secure stocks of wines which are otherwise difficult to obtain, providing the best opportunity to acquire wines from a great vintage, such as last year's, "and this year"!
